Writing in Reverse
After receiving feedback for my first draft AOL and seeing Adesola’s recent blog post about clear AOL claims (which I found extremely helpful), it is evident to me that I need to re-arrange the way I write in order to compose an essay in an academic style.
I have found that I required a conclusion at the start. Following this, then move on to explain why I have come to that conclusion while supplying evidence of this, instead of writing narratively and coming to a conclusion at the end.
Much like a story ballet, it uses the narrative to create a conclusion, but in a more modern abstract piece, we do not need to tell a story (similar to academic writing). Moving forward I will apply this idea to my future essays.

Jacob, your analogy on a ballet creating a narrative opposed to abstract dance similar to academic writing, is a great way to view writing. I have learned the evidence creates a great foundation for understanding for which our conclusion has been created then leads us to more questions. The thinking never stops. I remember writing my AOL's as a story to begin with. Good luck with your writing.
