Keep Moving Forward

So the summer felt quite long, but at the same time, where did July and August go!?  Module 3 has come around pretty quickly and I don't feel prepared, yet we must forge ahead.

Even though the arts world has "opened" up again (at least in the UK), it still feels very stagnant.  On the face of things we are back to normal, yet there is a backlog of jobs, projects and events that were in production before the pandemic and still waiting to have their moment in the light.  This also means that any casting that was done has remained and new jobs and productions have not yet started looking.  So under the surface, we are not "back to normal".

Philip Joel, a Performer/Choreographer, echoed the way I feel in a twitter post.  It was good to know that I wasn't alone in the way that I felt.  I highly recommend giving him a follow for positive vibes and good karma!

Christina Gibbs has blogged about image and identity, and it is an interesting subject.  Without performing I am wondering who I am and what am I becoming?  I will be interested to see what developed in her journey.  It seems to be a subject on a lot of our minds at the moment.
